The Delaware Business Roundtable commends the Senate for passing HB 226, which paves the way for the creation of the Delaware Prosperity Partnership – a jointly funded public-private entity that would transform the way our state recruits and retains businesses.

We are heartened to see that the General Assembly agrees that a new approach is needed to create the kind of entrepreneurial, innovation-based economy that will lead to real growth. The Delaware Prosperity Partnership will leverage the energy, knowledge and creativity of private enterprise to strategically realign Delaware’s economic development efforts. It is a chance to dramatically re-think the way Delaware does business by bringing more ideas to the table.

For the first time, government and the private sector will be formally working together in Delaware to grow the economy – and that will benefit all Delawareans.
